Mass Murder or Abortion?

Anti-abortionist and Feminist

In the Letters to the Editor, two students articulate their opinions on abortion access.

John Countryman condemns a recent feminist speaker's presentation because he views abortion as cold-blooded murder.

Kimberly Schmidtt responds to Countryman's opinions and defends women's right to choose.

I was appalled at the idea of an equal rights group that promotes the right of a privileged group to commit murder!

Mr. Countryman and all other anti-abortionists obviously lack the understanding it takes to have ever gone through the agony of having to make that choice.

They want to give a license to kill to anyone who is capable of becoming pregnant, yet they speak of gun control.

It's easy to see how abortion is abused as a means of birth control, but every right given to mankind has in some form or another been abused. You speak of gun control-that too has been abused.

A true equal rights group would fight and die for another's basic, right to life before they would begin to consider fighting for a luxury right such as representation. I would have especially thought a feminist group, being female, would lead in fighting for the rights of their unborn babies.

The "feminist group" you keep referring to in your article is not for "mass murder," they merely are giving the woman the choice to make that decision.

However, as we heard today their right to kill is more important than the right of their children to live!

Those who have been through the ordeal of deciding to have the abortion will tell you that it was no easy task and that the emotional turmoil they went through during the abortion continues with them forever. To think that they feel no remorse or regret is to make them out to be inhuman.
